Our Cafe, Our Community
The Lakeside Café is Birmingham’s hidden gem, located in Ward End Park – a stunning 54 acre green space in the heart of B8.
Ward End Park has a long history as a focal point at the heart of the local community. It was once medieval open fields and then, later, formed the grounds of Ward End Park House, which dates back to 1759. At the turn of the 20th century Birmingham Corporation bought the land and the park was laid out and opened to the public in 1904.
Later, a large boating lake was dug out in the winter of 1908 to 1909 – that’s where we are!
Friends of Ward End Park are an active local group, who we have strong community links with through the Norton Hall Children & Family Centre WASH Project.
Ward End Park House, located within the park, dates back to a historic 1759 and is now being refurbished in conjunction with Birmingham City Council!
So, you can be part of this thriving community every time you pop over for a morning coffee, lovely lunch, or afternoon cake.
See you soon!
